| Welcome to The Speight's Ale House,
Dunedin |

|
| The Speight’s
Ale House, situated within the historic Speight’s Brewery at 200 Rattray
Street, was the original Ale House to open in New Zealand. In August 1999
Mark and Kirstin Scully opened the Ale House to coincide with extensive
work done to open the Brewery Tour, Heritage Centre and Shop. This major
investment has seen The Speight’s Brewery remain a vibrant and popular
part of Dunedin. |

|
| All the superb tap ales served at The
Speight’s Ale House are brewed right here on site as they have been since
1876. When the original Ale House was opened the challenge given to the
chefs was to produce hearty, value for money servings of southern fare.
Nothing has changed, today’s menu still features Ale House classics like
seafood chowder, blue cod, lamb shanks,
steak, venison as well
as vegetarian options. |

|
|
|
| All
meals are expertly matched to one of our fine tap ales, although an extensive
range of wines, spirits, coffees
and non-alcoholic drinks are also available. The Speight’s Ale House
also offers set menu options for groups, including package deals
which
can include
a tour of the brewery.
If you are looking for the perfect gift, meal vouchers
are available on request at the bar.

| The Speight’s Ale House is a superb
venue for a group outing whether it is for a meal, drinks
and nibbles in
the bar or to enjoy the game on our big screen. This iconic venue, with
its unique setting in one of New Zealand’s most historic breweries is a
must do for both locals and visitors to Dunedin. Often local people will
bring out-of-town visitors for a look at our brewery restaurant. The success
of this outlet has lead to the establishment of an extensive network of
Ale Houses throughout the country. |
